We run these free online 'Rehab Conversations' several times throughout the year—to gather, connect, share ideas, and support each other in our learning and practice.
The presentation will last for 30 minutes, then we will have 20 minutes for a facilitated, interactive discussion.
Jonathan is Director of Allied Health for ABI Rehabilitation, and an occupational therapist. Over recent years he has held a range of leadership roles across Health NZ – Counties Manukau and ABI Rehabilitation that combine his passions for improving rehabilitation outcomes and experiences of people with neurological conditions, and interprofessional collaboration.
Upon registration, you will receive an email with the Zoom link for the event.
Community integration is widely considered to be the ultimate goal of rehabilitation, particularly for those with acquired brain injury (ABI). This presentation summarises the findings of a doctoral study that explored the experiences of people with ABI as they began to re-integrate into their communities following in-patient rehabilitation. Clinical implications of the research findings and how these could be incorporated into service delivery will be discussed.
Please share the invitation with anyone you think might be interested in joining us for this session. We ask that they register separately so that we can contact them directly if there are any event changes and/or further information to share. Thanks!
NB: We can only make these events free if people become members of the NZRA (so we can pay for the website and event management platform). If you are not already, please consider becoming a paid-up member. It costs NZ$25 per year- a bargain! Join here: https://www.rehabilitation.org.nz/join-us
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Secretary via admin@rehabilitation.org.nz prior to the event.
