Mark is an advanced practice physiotherapist in stroke rehabilitation working at Burwood Hospital. He is interested in evidence-practice and implementation science.
In early 2023, the stroke services at Burwood Hospital embarked on a service improvement project using an implementation science framework. The project's aim was to increase therapy for patients, towards levels recommended by the Australian and NZ stroke guidelines.
Mark's presentation will cover current stroke rehabilitation evidence and a process for successful service improvement.
Mark will present for 40 minutes, followed by a 20-minute opportunity for discussion.

Please note that the event will be hosted via Zoom. We have noticed an increasing number of people (mainly Health NZ staff) who are unable to access Zoom via their work computers. We are looking into alternatives; however, all options appear to have their own unique challenges depending on organisational settings. Please discuss if and how you can access Zoom via your workplace computer with your IT support people prior to the event. We are not able to support with access issues on the day.
