We will be running these free online 'Rehab Conversations' a number of times throughout the year - to gather, to connect, to share ideas, and to support each other in our learning and practice.
The presentation will last for 30 minutes, then we will have 20 minutes for a facilitated, interactive discussion.
Advanced Physiotherapist (Falls), Kenepuru Community ORA Team | Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley
Upon registration, you will receive an email with the Zoom link for the event.
Calista is an Advanced Falls Clinician working in the Kenepuru Community ORA team at HNZ – Te Whatu Ora, Capital & Coast District. She works with older adults, people who are experiencing falls, and those with a variety of neurological and rehabilitation conditions.
In the Porirua region where she works, Calista is privileged to work alongside many people identifying as Māori, which has emphasised the importance of embracing Māori models of care as part of fulfilling the obligations that all healthcare providers have to Te Tiriti.
Prior to attending the Rehab Conversation we strongly recommend that you watch/listen to the following presentation about the Meihana Model by Professor Suzanne Pitama: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJxLMF7UTak
You can also access a paper about the Meihana Model here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/241393435_Meihana_Model_A_Clinical_Assessment_Framework
Please share the invitation with anyone you think might be interested in joining us for this session. We ask that they register separately so that we can contact them directly if there are any event changes and/or further information to share. Thanks!
NB: We can only make these events free if people become members of the NZRA (so we can pay for the website and event management platform). If you are not already, please consider becoming a paid-up member. It costs NZ$25 per year- a bargain! Join here: https://www.rehabilitation.org.nz/join-us
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Anne Hawker via admin@rehabilitation.org.nz prior to the event.
